TheKershaw Outright 8320BLK is a small edc knife that combines an exotic scimitar profile, proven materials and the functionality of Kershaw products.
The Kershaw Outright 8320BLK is a knife designed for those looking for a discreet and functional edc tool that can handle the daily tasks of the urban jungle.
Proven steel
The 76mm long blade is made of popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardened to 57-59 HRC. This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6. The 8Cr13MoV steel blade will perform well in everyday use due to its corrosion resistance, good sharpness retention and ease of sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is completely sufficient.
Sharp as a razor
The slim blade with a utilitarian Trailing Point profile has a PVD finish with a wear-resistant PVD coating (gas-phase coating). A distinctive feature of such a blade is the slightly raised tip above (or in line with) the back of the knife. The blade, modeled after oriental scimitars, has a blade with a distinctly exposed belly, which contributes to excellent performance and ease of cutting. The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 2.8 mm, which is a compromise between durability and functionality of the knife in everyday use.
Convenient unfolding
The blade is unfolded with one hand in two ways: with a double-sided peg or a milled flipper, a solution convenient for both right- and left-handed users. The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe assist mechanism. When the flipper flipper is pressed, the assist mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second.
Blade lock
A monolithic frame-lock, considered one of the most robust locking mechanisms, effectively protects the blade from accidental folding. The locking bar has a stop that prevents deformation and its excessive outward extension. The lock, like the flipper and peg, can be operated with one hand.
Secure grip
The knife's handle is formed by 3D-engineered facings made of black G10 composite. The glass-epoxy laminate used is characterized by light weight, high mechanical strength, resistance to water, temperature change, as well as many acids and solvents. The profiled shape of the grip, the undercut for the fingers and the fine non-slip checkering make this small knife very secure in the hand and comfortable in everyday use. The discreet carrying of the knife in the pocket is made possible by the high-set clip without the possibility of repositioning.
