Hard carbon steel
The blade is made of D2 hard tool steel hardened to 60 HRC. D2 is a carbon steel with superior corrosion resistance, which features high abrasion resistance, long retention of working sharpness and aggressive cutting.
When choosing a knife made of such steel, it is worth getting a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and inefficient.
The knife has a symmetrical blade with a spear-point profile, finished with a satin-finish (polishing), which eliminates glare and gives a classic look. The knife owes its good cutting properties and excellent penetration to a flat grind, a cutting edge with a gentle curve and a strong hilt.
Monolithic locking mechanism
The blade can be unfolded with one hand using a double-sided peg, a method convenient for both right- and left-handed users The monolithic frame-lock, considered one of the most reliable safety mechanisms, effectively protects the blade from accidental folding. The locking of the blade is done by one of the liners, which rests against the base of the head.
Walther Q5 Steel frame style handle
The knife has steel facings enhanced with FRN plastic inserts. The non-slip texturing of the overlays is identical to that applied by the manufacturer to the Walther Q5 pistol grip. The fine grille provides excellent grip and prevents the knife from slipping from a sweaty or wet hand. A flat clip is attached to the handle, which can be flipped to the other side, allowing the knife to be carried discreetly in a pocket, belt or equipage.
