AlcoBlow is a fast and easy to use non-contact (measurement without mouthpiece) indicator of the presence or absence of alcohol in exhaled air. The AlcoBlow is not an evidential alcohol concentration meter, and its readings cannot be used as a basis for punishment.
TheAlcoBlow is a breathalyzer used by the police for preliminary tests of a large number of people in a short period of time, such as drivers standing at traffic lights or in traffic jams. With the AlcoBlow breathalyzer we are able to carry out more than 5,000 measurements on a single set of batteries, and the lack of need for mouthpieces makes the breathalyzer extremely economical to use.
The AlcoBlow has two air sampling modes:
- active - when the person being tested uses a sufficiently strong exhalation to trigger the air collection system.
- passive - activated by a passive button - when the person tested cannot or does not want to provide an adequate air sample, this mode is also used to test the contents of containers if there is suspicion of alcohol in the container.
TheAlcoBlow has two on/off switches and two tri-color LED indicators, which unambiguously determine the state in which the tested person is, as well as the limits of alcohol concentration.
