The Robens Dixie Hiking Axe is an axe designed for use during survival expeditions, camping and other forms of communing with nature.
Construction
The blade of the axe is made of durable carbon steel, so it can be successfully used to handle larger pieces of wood. The steel is additionally coated with PTFE fluoropolymer, giving the blade anti-corrosion properties.
The axe's handle, on the other hand, is made of fiberglass-reinforced nylon, a lightweight but durable material. In addition, the handle has a full-length insert made of TPR, a thermoplastic material that is resistant to abrasion, scratching and mechanical damage.
The insert not only increases the strength of the entire shaft, but also provides a secure and stable grip.
A round hole at the end of the axe shaft makes it possible to safely hang it from a hook or other protruding element, such as a hard branch. The hole also makes it possible to strap the axe to a backpack.
