Fenix PD36 Tac LED Flashlight

TheFenix PD36 Tac is an upgraded version of the highly regarded PD36R tactical flashlight, equipped with a Luminous SST70 LED emitting a maximum light output of 3000 lumens, and a capacious 21700 5000 mAh battery charged via a USB-C port.

Armored design

The body of the Fenix PD36 Tac flashlight is made of hardened A6061-T6 aluminum , subjected to the HA-III hard anodizing process, making the flashlight's barrel and head resistant to mechanical damage, scratches and abrasion. The milling of the body and its geometric profile prevent the flashlight from slipping from the hand, and provide excellent grip. The optics are protected by a steel crown (raised head elements), which protects the glass in case of a fall or setting on an uneven surface. The PD36 Tac also features a steel clip that allows for quick attachment of the flashlight to a belt and a body armor.

The detachable clip also prevents the flashlight from rolling off an inclined surface. To operate the flashlight, there is a rear switch (for activating momentary and constant light) and a rotating ring for quickly changing the mode group and activating the lock.

Light output as high as 3000 lumens

The light source is a new generation LUMINUS SST-70 LED, emitting a maximum light output of 3000 lumens at a distance of as much as 274 meters. The cool-neutral light color reduces eye fatigue, provides more natural color reproduction and greater detail. Due to its tactical nature, the flashlight uses a smooth SMO reflector, providing a concentrated stream of light with a strongly illuminated center of the scene.Such parameters allow you to illuminate distant targets, but also to work effectively in confined spaces, so the Fenix PD36 Tac will be perfect for patrol and rescue operations. Rechargeable battery with charging via USB-C port

The flashlight is powered by a 21700 type cell with a capacity of 5000 mAh. The battery used has twice the capacity of a standard 18650 cell, which obviously translates into tremendous performance and impressive runtime.

The battery uses a practical charging system in the form of a built-in USB-C port. This convenient solution makes it possible to charge the cell without the need for an additional charger. For charging, all you need is a standard USB-C cable (included) and a power source such as a power bank, laptop, desktop computer or car USB charger. According to the manufacturer, the 21700 battery provides as much as 90 minutes in turbo mode of 3000 lumens or almost 2 days of operation in eco mode. The use of two springs in the battery compartment, guarantees stable operation and prevents power failures due to drops.

Convenient operation

ThePD36 Tac is equipped with two switches: the main (rear) switch and a mechanical ring for changing the mode group. The back button activates momentary light, constant illumination and, is also used to change brightness levels. The rotating ring is responsible for quickly switching between Tactical and Duty groups, as well as activating the lock, which protects against accidental activation of the flashlight.

Thanks to the memory function, when the flashlight is next activated, the last used light mode is automatically selected. The Fenix PD36 TAC uses APF (Advanced Transmision Technology), which reduces the susceptibility of electronics to interference. The flashlight also has a smooth-acting mechanical rotary switch, whose operation does not interfere with the magnetic field.

The use of a rotary switch allows for a quick change between Tactical and Duty modes. In Tactical mode, the user can only use the light in strong and strobe modes. The Duty group contains all available modes useful during duty and everyday tasks. Changing modes is done with a half-click, after holding the switch for 0.8 seconds you get quick access to strobe (regardless of the selected group), to lock the selected brightness mode, press the switch (full click).

Safety features

The flashlight uses several safety systems, including reverse polarity protection and "smart protection" against overheating. The high IP68 protection rating makes the flashlight resistant to total immersion in water (30 minutes at a depth of 2 m), dust and dirt, as well as falling. Compatible accessories
