TheTaurus 1911 Commander BK/BK cal. 9mm is a self-reloading pistol based on the classic Colt M1911A1 design, distinguished by its high build quality and affordable price.
The new incarnation of the 1911
Taurus has been redefining the iconic 1911 pistol design for more than a decade, creating a perfectly reproduced weapon in 3 classes: Gouverment (full-size pistol), Commander (Semi Compact). Officer (Compact). The Commander model is a model between Full Size and Officer, with a full-size grip and shortened breech and a 4.2" barrel. The pistol is designed for concealed carry, self-defense and recreational shooting.
Taurus uses forged locks, frames (carbon steel) and proprietary barrels (stainless steel) for its 1911 series pistols. All pistols are hand-assembled and hand-fitted by skilled gunsmiths, so that the offered weapons stand out for their excellent value for money. The design of the weapon is directly related to the M1911 A1, which is emphasized by the milling behind the trigger, designed to make shooting easier for people with smaller hands, as well as the longitudinal grooving of the rear part of the grip, which nullifies the sideways rotation of the gun. The SA trigger mechanism operates smoothly, with resistance characteristic of military weapons (about 3.5-4 pounds).
A combination of classic and modern
Like the original, the Taurus 1911 Commander has three fuses, i.e. wing, grip and cocking. The Taurus 1911 Commander is fed from a single-round 9-round magazine (one included).
Novak-branded mechanical instruments (horizontally adjustable sights) are set on the lock of the new Commander in a three-white dot arrangement. The front and rear of the breech are ribbed for easy reloading and chamber checking. The pistol has a skeletonized trigger tongue, a Combat-type cock and an enlarged spur (beaver tail) that protects the base of the hand from contact with the breech. The spur also helps the shooter maintain control of the weapon during rapid firing. The polymer handle facings have a checkered texture for a stable grip and a decorative Taurus logo with a bull's-eye motif.
