The Karimata consists of 120 air chambers, which, when filled with air, form a soft and comfortable mat for sleeping and sitting. The enlarged air-injection valve has undergone reinforcement, making the key component of the design resistant to damage and wear. A nylon fabric with a reinforcing ripstop weave was used for the carrimat. To protect the karimata from getting wet, the fabric is coated with a waterproof TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) coating.
