Fenix HP25R V2.0 is a professional headlamp in a new design, which after the upgrade emits a stream of 1600 lumens, has a range of up to 290 m, and uses a 21700 cell with a capacity of up to 5000 mAh to power it.
Modular design
The flashlight has a durable body cast from aircraft-grade aluminum. The lightweight aluminum alloy efficiently dissipates the heat generated during illumination, and is resistant to mechanical damage, corrosion and weather conditions. The headlamp consists of 3 main components: a light module, a separate power container, and an elastic band. The external power container has a longer cord, which allows for convenient carrying on a helmet or attached headband. The set comes with 7 clips to ensure proper organization and stable attachment of the power cord. A reflective insert is applied to the container to increase our visibility when illuminated.
Advantages of the external container:
- Provides even weight distribution, better headlamp stability and comfort,
- Allows you to charge the battery while working (built-in USB-C port),
Thanks to this design, the Fenix HP25R will be great for cave exploration, camping, night walking, search and rescue operations, as well as sports activities where prolonged use of the headlamp will be necessary.
A light for a variety of applications
The flashlight's main light source is a cool-color SST40 LED, which emits a maximum output of 1600 lumens. Such impressive illumination allows you to illuminate a large cave, slope or forest wall even from a distance of 290 meters. The white-colored light better illuminates distant places, and we also have the impression of much greater brightness. The light from the main diode reflects the smooth reflector, creating a well-focused beam with a maximum range of more than 290 meters, useful for exploration, investigating passages and admiring distant objects. Such impressive performance has been achieved, among other things, thanks to the use of a tempered ultra-clear glass with an anti-reflective coating for high light transmission, coated and a smooth reflector that precisely focuses the diode's light. In addition to the long-range emitter, the headlamp uses 2 additional LEDs: the XP-G3 S4 with neutral color and the red light of the Everlight 2835 LED. The Cree XPG-3 S4 emits light of warm color (3500 K) with a high color index CRI 75. This means that colors are better rendered than with cold light, and the illuminated objects look natural. The light from the small emitters is dispersed using collimating lenses. A wider and evenly dispersed beam will be ideal for illuminating the workplace, camp, will be appreciated by photography enthusiasts and people who, even during an overnight stay in the woods, will not refuse to read "to the pillow". Using a flashlight with neutral light in winter, we will avoid unpleasant glare from light reflected from snow or ice. The flashlight has an adjustable angle of light (up to 60°), which is done by tilting the flashlight module forward.
USB-C charging port
The Fenix HP25R v2.0 headlamp is powered by a 21700 Fenix ARB-L21-5000 lithium-polymer battery with a capacity of as much as 5000 mAh, which can be replaced by a standard 18650 cell if necessary. A charged battery provides up to 800 hours of operation in red light flash mode (5 lumens) or 2 hours of illumination of the main diode in turbo mode (1600 lumens). If you want to extend the flashlight's runtime, just plug a high-capacity portable power bank into the built-in USB-C port. The USB-C port provides a high charging current of 2 A allowing the battery to be charged in just 4 hours. Charging via the USB-C port is done without removing the battery from the headlamp. This functional and convenient solution has already been appreciated by many mountain enthusiasts, survivalists and hikers.
Convenient control
Thanks to the use of two buttons, operation of the flashlight is very simple and convenient and, most importantly, does not require taking the flashlight off the head. Enlarged on/off switches have been placed at the top of the headlamp, which makes it easy to locate them and allows comfortable operation with gloves. The switch on the right side is responsible for turning on/off and changing the brightness of the focused light, while the button on the left side performs the same functions for the diffuse and red light.
The long-range LED offers 5 modes of operation (right button):
- Turbo 1600 lumens-for exploring caves and illuminating distant objects
- High 1000 lumens-optimal illumination for jogging, night hiking
- medium 400 lumens-provides long runtime
- low 150 lumens-discreet light used in situations where you want the longest possible runtime,
- eco-maximum run time.
The diffuse light diode has 3 modes (left button):
- High 400 lumens-optimal light for work, camping
- Medium 150 lumens-efficient light for illuminating a small space
- low 5 lumens-discreet light used in situations where you want to work as long as possible.
The red LED provides 2 modes of operation:
- low 5 lumens- -discreet red light for nighttime applications,
- flashing 5 lumens-a warning light.
Comfortable headband
Comfortable carrying of the flashlight on the head is ensured by an elastic rubber band, which is responsible for comfort and efficient wicking of sweat during exercise. An additional stabilizing strap and a set of clips make it easy to adjust the headband to the user, as well as to attach it to a protective helmet.
Advanced safety features
The Fenix HP25R V2.0 features reverse polarity protection (incorrect battery installation), which can damage the electronics. The flashlight also has overheat protection, initiated automatically when the manufacturer-defined temperature is reached. This model additionally features a lock mode, which prevents accidental activation of the flashlight during transport. The flashlight features a high IP66 rating, which means it is resistant to dust, dust, heavy rain and momentary immersion in water. As a result, the HP25R V2.0 can be successfully used in all weather conditions, regardless of physical activity.
The presented parameters were obtained under laboratory conditions. The 21700 Fenix ARB-L21-5000 battery was used during testing.
