Pump-action shotgun for dynamic shooting
The Benelli Supernova is a pump-action shotgun with a breech chamber suitable for magnum 12/89 ammunition. The butt, shuttle and breech chamber are made of technopolymer, a plastic that is resistant to both high and low temperatures. The Supernova has excellent weight distribution for better balance and recoil reduction, a flask and breech with a new geometry and a soft footplate that perfectly dampens recoil energy. The rifle has a smooth reloading mechanism and an ergonomic shuttle, so that the rifle in the hands of a skilled shooter is not inferior in rate of fire to automatic rifles.
Reduced recoil
The ComforTech system is responsible for reducing recoil. This effect is achieved by applying chevron-shaped elastomeric panels to the butt, which, together with the footplate, largely dampen the recoil energy transferred to the shooter's shoulder. According to the manufacturer, the system reduces recoil sensation by 47%, weapon underthrow by 32% and reduces the time required to fire a second shot by up to 34%. This is especially important when shooting powerful magnum ammunition, because even despite the high energy, shooting such ammunition is not tiring and does not cause discomfort.
An element that further enhances comfort and allows for better adjustment of the rifle is a set of shims for adjusting the flask avantage.
Comfort and ergonomics
The shotgun is fed from a magazine with a capacity of 4 cartridges, which can be enlarged with an additional extension (not included). The shotgun has an enlarged bail, safety and shuttle. The charging port has also been enlarged and extended, making it possible to load twin or quad loads (2 or 4 cartridges) without gunsmithing adjustments, which dynamic shooters usually undertake on their own after purchasing the weapon. A fiber-optic musket was used for aiming. Of course, a sporting rifle could not lack interchangeable foreheads, which allow modifying the shotgun's beam depending on the distance at which we shoot.
