One of the most important advantages of Leupold Patrol sights is their light weight. The weight of the 273 mm-long lubnet is only 380 g, making it one of the lightest, in the group of sights with such optics. The scope has an aluminum (6061-T6) tube with a diameter of 30 mm, which, unlike the inch version, provides a much greater range of adjustment of target reticle settings of 170 MOA vertically and horizontally. On the eyepiece there is a ring with an enlarged whisker for quick and convenient magnification changes in the 1-6 × range.
Thetube of the scope is filled with a patented mixture of gases (argon and krypton), which eliminates the effects of thermal shock, reduces the diffusion of gases inside the scope and completely eliminates the problem of internal lens evaporation. The waterproofing technology used guarantees 100 percent weather resistance. The scope underwent rigorous testing on the Punisher simulation machine, during which the scopes were subjected to 5,000 recoil endurance tests. The machine generates shocks with an energy 3× greater than the recoil of a .308 rifle, so the scope can be used on sporting and hunting weapons without fear.
Leupold running scope - for hunters and sport shooters
The American manufacturer Leupold places special emphasis on image quality and brightness. The optical system uses premium lenses and the Twilight Light Max Management system responsible for high light transmission, and reducing scattered light.
The visible image is bright and sharp from edge to edge , as well as deep, so the scope can be used for hunting at dawn and dusk (adds about 30 minutes of light). Premium lenses increase light transmission in blue and red, and balance colors to maximize contrast. Glare is offset with special mechanical structures and blackened lens edges. The outer surfaces of the lenses are coated with a durable Guard-Ion coating, which protects the optics from scratches and reduces the settling of water, dust and fingerprints.

The illuminated crosshair sighting reticle, optimum magnification and wide field of view (from 40.3 to 6.4 m / 100 m) make the scope ideal for group hunting, and 3Gun shooting competition.
The CM-R2 sighting reticle is designed for instinctive and dynamic shooting at close range, for which lower magnification is sufficient. Compared to other target crosshairs, the CM-R2 reticle allows the shooter to estimate the distance to the target and fire at targets with greater flexibility. The CM-R2 reticle consists of a bold crosshair with an open top and a central 0.5 MOA dot surrounded by a 5.0 MOA circle. With its open top and illuminated target mark, the reticle provides a great combination of precision and speed. The clear markings on the horizontal beams can be used to guide targets moving at 5, 10 and 15 miles per hour, respectively. This unique blend of capabilities allows the sight to be used for shooting in the open, in the woods and on the IPSC circuit.
Theilluminated aiming mark (circle and dot) automatically moves the shooter's sight to the center of the reticle, making target entry quick and instinctive. Adjustment of the illumination (7 levels) is made with the Push Button on the side. The first 3 settings are for use in low light conditions, the others for use in sunlight. The adjustment range allows comfortable operation regardless of lighting conditions and time of day.
Locking reels with quick zeroing system
The scope uses a practical Pop-Up Rezero zeroing system (with the push of a button), which prevents accidental change of settings and allows instant return to the original settings without the need for additional tools. The use of the System Zero Lock eliminates the possibility of accidentally changing height settings while allowing a quick and precise return to zero. The turrets are 1/4 MOA adjustable. The crosshair adjustment range is 170 MOA vertically and horizontally.
CDS system
The scope uses an innovativeCDS (Custom Dial System) that allows the shooter to adjust the elevation barrel parameters to match the distance and ballistics of specific ammunition. The CDS-ZL2 is a low-profile adjustment turret that prevents accidental changes in settings. The Zero Lock locking system provides easy resetting of the settings with the push of a button. Once the CDS is properly configured, after just a short training session, we can shoot accurately and reproducibly at long distances without the need to use an elevation table (changing the aiming point).

To ensure stable zero holding, the erector system is constantly affected by a double progressive spring (30% stronger than a linear spring). Its task is to level the shock caused by the recoil of the weapon and increase the life of the internal components.
