Travel sharpener
All steel dulls over time and needs sharpening, regardless of the brand and the price point of the knife. Even when the knife is stored in a drawer, the blade requires periodical sharpening. However, if the knife is used outdoors or if it’s often used for daily activities, you should take special care of the blade’s condition. What is the best way to ensure the blade does not require tedious and time-consuming repairs? THE EDGE sharpener for EDC, hunting and outdoor knives
THE EDGE edcSHARP is a V-type sharpener with abrasive surfaces positioned at fixed angles of 20° and 25°. These angles are most commonly used for sharpening EDC, outdoor and hunting knives, so you can repair knives of various purposes using one pocket sharpener. This will be especially appreciated by users with no prior experience in sharpening knives and those who want to quickly and effectively repair a blade while out in the field. The sharpener uses triangular ceramic and tungsten plates, which can be easily removed for cleaning. This design has another advantage. Once the plate is worn or damaged, you can turn the plate over and have a new abrasive surface.
Applications
Coarse tungsten carbide plates quickly remove steel, don’t apply pressure while sharpening the knife, the weight of the blade is enough. Tungsten carbide plates are intended for sharpening very dull knives and can be used to repair a damaged cutting edge. Depending on steel hardness, 5-6 swipes are typically sufficient to even out and improve the cutting edge.
Fine ceramic plates are used for sharpening and honing the cutting edge. Ceramic plates are recommended for honing the blade after sharpening with a tungsten sharpener, quick sharpening and keeping a sharpened knife in good condition. Fine ceramic plates pick up steel in a slower manner, so sharpening takes longer and offers more control.
