The Bergara TP1 6.5 M18x1 exhaust brake effectively reduces the recoil and toss of the weapon and reduces the raising of dust clouds when shooting in a recumbent stance.
Features of Bergara ST1:
- brake dedicated to 6.5 caliber weapons with M18×1 metric threads
- 3-chamber nitrided steel construction
- noticeably reduces recoil after firing

The brake has a steel 3-chamber design, with slanted baffles that discharge powder gases to the sides. The outflowing stream of gases strikes the brake baffles located a short distance from the barrel's exit and is partially braked. This causes a reduction in its kinetic energy and a simultaneous local increase in the so-called dynamic pressure.
This results in a drastic reduction in recoil and slightly reduces barrel toss. Properly directing the powder gases minimizes the raising of dust clouds and allows the shooter to maintain an unobstructed field of view, which improves the comfort of shooting while lying down.

The steel body of the brake has undergone a thermo-chemical nitriding treatment, which has high wear resistance, increases top hardness and prevents corrosion. The brake has a Self Timing lock nut, the proper tightening of which requires a torque wrench with a setting of 35 lbs.
