The holster is designed for right-handed shooters. When retracted, the revolver is locked in place with the help of a leather patch fastened with a tension. The holster uses adjustable western-style suspenders for carrying. The holster and suspenders were sewn by hand from natural cowhide, so they require periodic maintenance with leather care products.
