Silky Katanaboy 500-5 saw blade

The 500 mm long XL blade is dedicated to the Silky Katanaboy 500-5 saw, and is made of authentic Japanese premium steel.

The blade has large teeth (5 teeth for each 30 mm length), making it suitable for cutting fresh wood. The high carbon content makes the blade resistant to wear and stays sharp for a long time. The soft metal core provides flexibility, which protects against breakage during operation. The lash formed in the wood is 1.9 mm wide.

To maintain the effectiveness of the blade, it is necessary to keep it clean and properly cared for. The resin is soluble in olive oil, making maintenance of the blade easy, as well as environmentally friendly.

Technologies used

Precision ground teeth with 4 cutting surfaces. The teeth are "not set" (compared to a classic western saw), so the cutting surface cuts straight into the wood, destroying about 50% fewer wood cells. The blades are ground in two directions, the lower part of the blade near the teeth is the thickest, and the middle part is the thinnest. As a result, less power is needed for sawing, the saw will not get stuck in the wood, and the saw cut is very clean and smooth, without breaking or tearing the wood.
