TheBeretta M9 A4 G FDE cal. 9x19 is a military-style semi-automatic pistol equipped with an externally threaded barrel, enlarged magazine catch, replaceable liners, tritium targeting instruments and a durable cerakote finish in the FDE color scheme. The main distinguishing feature of the A4 version is the factory-made breech undercut that allows the collimator to be directly mounted on the weapon.
Design
The Beretta M9 A4 is equipped with a steel lock, an aircraft-grade aluminum frame, and grip liners made of hardened polymer. The weapon is finished with a cerakote coating with enhanced abrasion resistance in the FDE military color scheme. The gun is built on a Vertec frame, which, unlike the classic frame, is narrower, has a different handle angle and a straight grip. The advantage of the Vertec skeleton is, of course, the smaller slimmer profile of the weapon, affecting the comfort of handling. Aggressive texturing has been applied to the grip, designed to suit the widest range of shooters. Along with the pistol we receive additional linings that allow us to adjust the grip to the shooter's hand. The pistol has a ported breech, where a large portion of the barrel is visible, and a widened slot to help with magazine replacement. Reducing the weight of the breech affects the speed of return to the target.
The 127 mm long furrowed barrel was made by cold forging and terminated with an external thread for mounting an exhaust device. The pistol uses a decocker for safe release of the tightened cock.
Operation
The Beretta M9 A4 operates on the principle of short barrel recoil, with a pendulum bolt used for locking. The pistol has a double-action (SA/DA) trigger mechanism and a cocked shock mechanism with an external cock. The gun uses up to three safety features: an automatic firing pin interlock, a premature shot safety and an adjustable safety with a decocker function (releasing the tightened cock without firing a shot). The pistol is fueled by two-round 17-round magazines (3 included), with polymer feet. The pistol's functionality is significantly enhanced by a double-sided wing fuse, and an enlarged magazine latch with the ability to be mounted on either side of the grip. The Beretta M9 A4 G FDE has factory-installed tritium sighting instruments.
