TheCivivi Teraxe Folding K nife features an intriguing combination of a durable Nitro-V steel blade with a G10 composite insert in the middle of the stainless steel handle. The folder is compact and handy, so it will work well as part of an EDC kit.
Nitro-V premium steel in the Civivi folding knife
The Civivi Teraxe's blade is made of Nitro-V, a stainless, martensitic steel with high chromium content. The alloy was enriched with nitrogen and vanadium. This increased the hardness of the material, while reducing susceptibility to corrosion. Because of the last property, Nitro-V is used in tools used in humid environments. It is hardened in the 57-60 HRC range.
Civivi Teraxe folder - head
The Teraxe features a blade of the widely used and proven Drop Point type. The pronounced belly, combined with a high and flat grind, makes the knife cut perfectly. A section of the blade's back is covered with the so-called upper jimping, a notch that allows the thumb to rest safely. This makes it easier to manipulate the folder, especially during work requiring greater precision and leverage.
The head was finished using the Bead Blast method.
Bearings and frame lock
The folder is equipped with ceramic ball bearings to support the opening mechanism. The proven frame lock makes the tool safe and trustworthy.
The knife opens with a thumb stud or flipper on both sides. When the head pops out of the handle the latter forms a kind of guard, protecting the hand from slipping on the blade.
Civivi Teraxe folding knife - handle
The handle of the Civivi Teraxe is made of stainless steel and light green colored G10 plastic - a composite of fiberglass and synthetic resin, lightweight and not susceptible to mechanical damage. Smoothed edges of the liners improve grip confidence and make the knife fit well even in tired and sweaty hands.
Thanks to the open backed design , the tool can be cleaned and oiled without much trouble.
Double-sided clip and case
The manufacturer also made sure that the knife can be conveniently transported by equipping it with a double-sided clip. It was constructed in such a way that the tool almost does not protrude from the pocket and is not conspicuous.
The folder can also be carried in a zippered nylon case.
