The Sencut Watauga is a folding knife designed with EDC kits in mind. With a wharncliffe blade, good quality materials, a secure lock and a Stonewashed finish, this sleek folder will faithfully serve any lover of sharpened steel.
Sencut Watauga folding knife - hard steel
The Sencut Watauga head was forged from a sturdy material - high-carbon and high-chromium D2 tool steel, hardened to 58-60 HRC. Thanks to its sizable chromium content, its corrosion resistance is higher than that of other steels of a similar type. It is also tough and holds an edge well. Due to its sizable carbide content in the microstructure, it has high wear resistance.
Sencut Watauga folding knife - head
The Watauga has a Wharncliffe-type blade. It is characterized by a flat or slightly concave cutting edge and a descending ridge. The combination of low thickness and high, flat grind makes the knife a great cutter. It will also work well for planing and carving. The back of the blade is notched and you can confidently rest your thumb on it, which helps when working with precision.
Stonewash
Thanks to the Black Stonewash finish, the blade is stained black and covered with irregular, fine scratches that mask well the subsequent scratches that occur during normal use of the knife.
Sencut Watauga folding knife - flipper, ceramic bearings and button lock
The folder is equipped with ceramic ball bearings, which significantly support the operation of the knife's opening mechanism. The knife is equipped with a button lock. The latter is activated by pressing a button located on one of the facings. Under the lock button is a spring, providing enough resistance to avoid accidental opening.
The knife can be opened in three ways: by gravity, when the lock is released, thanks to a thumb stud or thanks to a special index-finger flipper . The latter, when opened, also forms a kind of guard, preventing the hand from slipping on the blade.
It is worth adding that thanks to the button lock the knife can be simply played with, which is a lot of fun.
Composite handle and lightweight design
The Sencut Watauga has a handle made of dark green mircarta, a composite made from a combination of pressure-pressed canvas and synthetic resin. The facings have smooth edges, providing a comfortable grip even during prolonged use. The open-backed design reduces the weight of the knife and makes it easier to clean.
Sencut Watauga - double-sided clip and case
The manufacturer also took care of convenient transportation of the knife, equipping it with a double-sided clip. It was constructed in such a way that the tool almost does not protrude from the pocket and is not conspicuous. The folder can also be carried in a zippered nylon case.
