Sencut Scitus is a small and lightweight folding knife ideal for an EDC kit. Precisely made and designed by a Pole, Ostap Hel, it is sure to appeal to both collectors and those who like to use sharp steel primarily in the field.
Sencut Scitus folding knife - D2 steel
The Sencut Scitus blade was forged from D2 steel. The material contains 13% chromium. It was hardened in the range of 58-60 HRC. The result is a head that is hard and tough, with chromium protecting it from corrosion to a degree not seen in other high-carbon steels. D2 holds an edge well, and the high carbide content of the microstructure ensures that the steel does not wear away easily.
Sencut Scitus folding knife and Straight Back head
When designing the knife's head, Ostap Hel decided to go for a classic solution - a Straight Back blade. A long cutting edge, a small thickness of the blade and a high, flat grind make the knife cut comfortably and efficiently. The back of the blade is notched and you can confidently rest your thumb on it, which undoubtedly helps when working requiring precision.
Stonewash
Thanks to the Gray Stonewashfinish, the blade is stained gray and covered with irregular, fine scratches, which mask well subsequent scratches that occur during normal use of the knife.
Sencut Scitus folding knife - smooth operation of the mechanism and Liner Lock lock.
The folder is equipped with ceramic ball bearings, thanks to which it opens smoothly and instantly, and a flipper. The proven Liner Lock lock provides the user with the necessary comfort and security. When opened, the flipper also forms a kind of guard, protecting the hand from slipping on the blade.
Sencut Scitus folding knife - Mircarta handle
The handle is made of Micarta, a composite material of canvas pressed under pressure with synthetic resin. The edges of the facings are smooth and provide an ergonomic, comfortable grip. Thanks to the open-backed design, the knife can be easily cleaned.
Sencut Scitus - clip and case
The manufacturer has equipped the knife with a double-sided clip, so it can be conveniently and discreetly carried in a trouser pocket or backpack. The folder can also be transported in a zippered case.
