Premium stainless steel
The blade is made of CPM-S20V powder steel hardened to a hardness of 59-61 HRC. CPM-S20V is an American "super steel" whose parameters correspond to Bohler's elite M390 stainless steel. Thanks to its high chromium content and high amount of vanadium carbides, the blade is characterized by extremely good corrosion and wear resistance, and very long retention of sharpness.
When choosing a knife made of such steel, it is worth getting a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and inefficient.
The long blade with a utilitarian Clip Point profile has a high grind, a sturdy tip, and a cutting edge with a gentle belly curve, so the knife provides good cutting properties and high penetration.
Kizer Cormorant Folding Knife with Button Lock
The folder is equipped with a Button Lock, which keeps the tool secure. The lock is released by pressing a button located on one of the liners. Under the lock button is a spring, which provides enough resistance to prevent the knife from accidentally opening. In this model, the diameter of the lock button and the diameter of the spring have been increased from 0.04 mm to 0.045 mm. An alternative way to open the blade is to use the generous finger hole in the blade.
Titanium linings in the knife
The Kizer Cormorant is equipped with titanium linings, which perfectly match the appearance of the entire design. In order to provide the best possible grip certainty, the surface of the linings has a deep texturing that improves the safety of use.The facings have smooth edges, providing a comfortable grip even during prolonged use. And the lower finger indentation, improves user safety and reduces the risk of the hand slipping on the cutting edge of the blade.
The folding knife is equipped with a Deep Carry clip, which allows the knife to be carried discreetly in a trouser pocket. The appearance of the clip refers in style to the texture of the titanium facings.
