Vortex Defender-CCW - the ideal MRDS collimator for a concealed carry pistol
The body of the sight is made by precision milling from 7075 aircraft aluminum, giving the device a lightweight and durable design weighing just 27 grams. The aluminum body was finished using a hard anodizing technique, which provides high resistance to abrasion and scratches. The base of the collimator is made in the popular Shield RMS/RMSc standard, eliminating the need to purchase an additional mounting plate, or for a gunsmith to modify the weapon.
The front of the sight has an aggressive Fast-Rack fluting, so we can reload the gun reliably through the collimator as well. The sight has a waterproof and dustproof housing, supported by a Shockshield polymer insert that effectively absorbs shock and recoil of the weapon. The slim profile of the sight makes picking the gun from under clothing smooth and at the same time we can carry the weapon unobtrusively. The collimator has a simple and friendly interface operated by large buttons located on both sides of the case.
Vortex collimators with lifetime warranty - red dot sights for CCW pistol, sport shooting and combat/defense shooting
The Vortex Defender-CCW has a high-quality lens coated with multi-layer anti-reflective coatings, which ensure high light transmission and a clear and sharp image free of parallax error. The viewfinder is distinguished not only by one of the largest lenses in its class, but also by its aspherical optics profile. This ensures crystal sharpness of the image not only in the center, but also in the periphery. The result is a bright clear image of the target and can shoot comfortably even in low light. The aiming mark is a red dot of 3 or 6 MOA (depending on the model) with a clique value of 1 MOA, adjustable from 105/110 MOA (horizontal/vertical). A metal washer with a 1° micro bevel is included, which may be needed when zeroing the weapon for longer range shooting. The Armortek hard coating protects the lens from scratches and other external factors.
The control system and diode are resistant to weapon recoil and atmospheric conditions, so the sight works stably and efficiently and stably also in harsh field conditions. The collimator is powered by a CR1632 battery, which, according to the manufacturer, provides up to 9,500 hours of operation at a brightness setting of 6. As with the Venom, the battery port is located on the top of the unit, allowing easy and convenient replacement of the power source, without the need to remove the sight from the weapon The user has 8 daylight settings and 2 night vision-compatible settings. Extended operating time, the sight is due to the use of a motion sensor, which, when there is no movement activity after 10 minutes, automatically turns off the LED and switches the sight to sleep mode. To turn the collimator back on, all you have to do is raise the weapon. The motion activation system instantly awakens the collimator, making it instantly ready to shoot even under prolonged storage.
The Vortex Defender-CCW collimator includes:
- Picatinny mount,
- 1° tilt pad,
- rubber cover,
- optics cleaning cloth,
- CR1632 battery,
- collimator adjustment wrench,
