Opinel Outdoor Fluo is a folding knife designed for survivalists and backpackers who want to have a solid piece of steel at hand. Made of high-quality materials, practical and handy, it is sure to come in handy during an existence far from civilization.
Opinel Outdoor Fluo, or Clip Point and Swedish steel
The Clip Point blade is made of Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel. This Swedish stainless steel is characterized by low impurities, high corrosion and chipping resistance and a fine carbide structure, which ensures very aggressive and efficient cutting and cutting edge strength.
It is worth mentioning that in the Opinel Outdoor Fluo knife the latter is partially serrated.
Handle
The ergonomic handle of the knife is made of durable plastic, resistant to damage, water and extreme temperatures. It was colored in a bright color, which makes it easier to find the tool. In addition, it is equipped with a rescue whistle with a volume of 110 decibels, audible from a distance of about 300 meters. Thanks to a nylon cord attached to the handle, the Opinel can be easily clipped to a backpack or other gear.
Virobloc lock
The knife opens with the help of a nail cutout grooved into the blade. It uses the Virobloc safety ring designed by Marcel Opinel in 1955. The locking mechanism has a steel construction and consists of two parts: a fixed (inner) one and a movable one, responsible for locking the blade in the open and folded positions. The mechanism is easy to use, durable and reliable, which is why Opinel has been using it almost unchanged for more than 65 years.
