Opinel 8 sickle is a knife designed for lovers of various types of gardening work. It can help with pruning small branches, harvesting herbs or debarking. It is mainly used by gardeners, fruit growers, nurserymen and florists.
Opinel 8 sickle - strong steel
The sickle head is made of Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel and polished to a semi-gloss finish. The steel is quite hard, has good cutting performance, and does not corrode. The characteristic sickle shape of the blade definitely helps in garden work.
Viroblock
Opening the knife is possible thanks to a notch on the wedge, and in the open position the head is locked with the patented Viroblock. This is nothing more than a steel ring on the handle located at the level of the axis of rotation of the head. After opening the knife, it is enough to rotate it a few degrees, so that it covers the blade slot in the handle, so that the head has no possibility of movement. In an analogous way, we secure the knife from accidental opening after folding.
Beechwood handle
The handle is made of beech wood. It is ergonomically contoured and provides a good grip. At its end there is a hole for attaching a string or rope.
