The blade is made of expensive CPM- D2 steel hardened to 60-62 HRC. CPM-D2 is a powdered variant of air-hardened D2 steel, but with much higher retention and a modified carbide microstructure, which makes the blade eminently wear-resistant, impressively long in sharpness and at the same time quite easy to sharpen. However, it is worth remembering the proper maintenance of the knife, so that the knife will serve reliably for many years. When choosing a knife made of such steel, it is worth getting a diamond sharpener, since sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and inefficient.
The 76mm long tactical tanto blade is coated with Cobalt Black, which protects against corrosion, minor scratches and emphasizes the tactical nature of the knife.
