The Benchmade 945BK-2 Mini Osborne is the long-awaited mini version of the iconic EDC knife, which this year celebrates 20 years of production.
The Osborne 940 knife designed by Warren Osborne is without a doubt one of the most popular edc knives in the world. Its success is due to its lightweight and functional design and the use of high-quality materials that guarantee durability and reliable performance.
The scaled-down design makes the knife highly comfortable to carry
The Benchmade 945BK-1 Mini Osborne retains the functionality and unique style of the iconic 940 model, but with a downsized design, it is much more comfortable and practical for everyday use.
Premium steel in Benchmade knife
The 74mm long blade is made of elite CPM-S90V stainless steel. Crucible Industries' S90V powder steel is hardened to an optimal hardness of 59-61 HRC, so it maintains high sharpness for a long time, has high mechanical strength, and is also resistant to corrosion.
Thanks to its high vanadium carbide content, the steel is distinguished by its high impact and wear resistance, as well as its excellent cutting properties. The blade is coated with a layer of black Teflon, which protects the blade from minor scratches.
When choosing a hard-steel knife, get a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and inefficient.
The usable head on the Mini Osborne folder
The knife has a reverse-tanto profile blade with a pronounced false blade to reduce the weight of the head. Thanks to the use of a sturdy hilt, a high flat grind and a cutting edge with a gently rounded line, the knife penetrates easily and has good cutting properties.
The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 2.6 mm, which is a compromise between the durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Convenient unfolding of the Benchmade 945-2 knife
The blade can be conveniently and quickly unfolded with one hand using a double-sided peg, which is convenient for both right- and left-handed people.
Reliable locking mechanism
Benchmade's flagship mechanism, the double-sided Axis-lock, which is valued for its immense mechanical strength, dirt resistance and convenient operation for right- and left-handed users, is responsible for safe operation.
The solid handle provides a secure grip
The knife has liners made of lightweight and very strong carbon fiber, which are attached to steel liners responsible for the rigidity and strength of the construction. One of the most important advantages of carbon fiber, besides its striking appearance, of course, is its minimal weight
The handle is strengthened by steel inserts and blue anodized spacer sleeves, strikingly contrasting with the knife's black color scheme. The linings are complemented by a spring clip, allowing the knife to be conveniently carried in a pocket or on a belt.
The clip can be attached to both the left and right sides of the handle.
