The knife's heads are forged from D2 steel, which combines exceptionally high dulling resistance with good stainless steel. Thanks to the Reverse Tanto type blade, the Kershaw Iridium has very good penetration properties. The blade has been coated with a satin finish to reduce fine scratches.
The Kershaw Iridium folding knife has a thumb stud opening and a double-sided locking mechanism.
The folder can be opened with a thumb stud on both sides. Also, the DuraLock lock, similar to the otherwise familiar Axis Lock, is double-sided.
