TheSmith&Wesson 629 Competitor 4.5mm 5" is a CO2 air rifle, which is a faithful replica of the modern version of the revolver of the same name - created on the basis of the classic 629 design for revolver competitive shooting. Heavy metal construction, impressive shooting performance and realistic charging system are the most important advantages of the revolver.
Classic Magnum revolver
The revolver has a heavy construction made entirely of metal (frame, inner barrel, barrel) polished to a high gloss. Only the profiled facings are made of soft, non-slip rubber.
Licensed Smith & Wesson markings were applied on the barrel and frame, and the revolver has a 5" barrel, making it best suited for short and medium range. The Smith&Wesson 629 uses mechanical sighting instruments in the form of a fixed musket (with a contrasting inset) and a vertically and horizontally adjustable pinniped. Rubberized liners with anatomical finger cutouts are responsible for the comfort of shooting and comfortable grip of the revolver.
Rotating barrel loaded with shells
The revolver has a realistic loading mechanism, effectively mimicking that of a Smith Wesson revolver. The system consists of a rotating barrel and metal dummy cartridges, in which we place steel BB'.s shot after inserting 4.5 mm balls in the shells (1 BB in a shell), the cartridges so prepared are loaded into the 6-shot barrel. After firing the shot, the dummy cartridges can be pushed out of the drum with an ejector, identical to the original. The cartridges are reusable, but it's a good idea to get a supply of them for added convenience.
Impressive shooting performance
The revolver is powered by compressed carbon dioxide supplied from a 12gCO2 capsule. The fired BB's shot reaches a high initial velocity reaching about 123 m/s, which allows accurate shooting at a distance of more than 30 m. Loading and replacing theCO2 capsule is simple and takes just a few seconds. All you have to do is push back the grip, place the capsule in the grip and tighten the cartridge with the help of a wrench, which is permanently attached to the liner. The revolver features impressive shooting performance. Using a brand-name capsule, we can fire up to 160 shots with an even initial velocity. It should be remembered that the biggest impact on the number of shots is the air temperature and the dynamics with which we shoot.
SA/DA trigger mechanism
The revolver uses a double-action SA/DA trigger mechanism, which means that firing a shot can be done with self-triggering or by first pulling back the cock. When transporting or carrying, the trigger mechanism can be locked with an adjustable fuse (barrel release) located on the left side of the frame.
