TheRuger AR-556 MPR cal. 223 / 5.56 16'' is a Mil Spec standard sporting carbine with DI gas system, equipped with a floating 16" barrel, M-LOK aluminum bed and Magpul brand add-ons to enhance ergonomics.
High quality workmanship
The Ruger AR-556 MPR cal. 223 / 5.56 has a barrel with a 1:8 thread pitch, for which 50-77 gr ammunition works best. The barrel with a "pencil" profile is made of cold-forged 4140 chrome-molybdenum steel, thus ensuring high durability and easy cleaning.
Thanks to the long gas system, bullets achieve a higher exit velocity, and the slower slide action reduces recoil. This also has the effect of reducing the amount of debris that enters the chamber and gas mechanism.
The 5 . 56mmcart ridgechamber allows the use of 5.56mm military ammunition and civilian .223 Remington ammunition. The Ruger discharge device combines the features of a compensator and a standard discharge brake, noticeably reducing recoil and barrel toss.
Working culture
This model uses a lightweight 15" aluminum bed in the M-LOK system, allowing attachment of selected shooting accessories. The breech chamber has an integrated Picatinny rail, connecting to the bed rail into a unified unit.
Upper and lower are made of forged 7075 T-6 aluminum and subjected to an HA-III anodized finish. A two-stage trigger mechanism with a weight of 2 kg provides very smooth operation and a short clear reset, helping with rapid shooting.
The carbine features Magpul branded additions in the form of an MOE pistol grip, a Mil Spec MOE SL standard flask and a 30-round P-Mag magazine.
