The uppers of the boots are made of natural nubuck leather and reinforced with a wide rubber collar (toe and heel) to protect the feet during hunting and trekking in difficult terrain. The boots have 4" (10.16 cm) high uppers, a comfortable insole and reinforced soles with additional cushioning in the middle, which increases comfort and reduces foot fatigue during prolonged walking. A specialized Vibram sole with a non-slip protector makes it easier to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces. The shoes also have a shock-absorbing midsole, which ensures long-distance walking comfort even on very uneven ground. Despite the massive sole, the shoes are relatively lightweight, with one shoe weighing just 480 g (weight for size 43).

The Härkila Reidmar 2.0 uses Sierra's waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex membrane to keep feet dry even in heavy rain or marching through snow. The membrane not only protects the boots from getting wet, it is also responsible for wicking the moisture released by the feet to the outside.
All shoes with Gore-Tex membrane are water tested to verify their water resistance.
