TheHolosun AEMS 221301 is an armored collimator with a closed design for mounting on long guns. The collimator uses many modern solutions, including Solar Failsafe power system, Shake Awake battery saving system and the ability to change the aiming mark. The 1/3 Co- Witness mount is included.

The body of the sight is made of lightweight T6061-T6 aluminum by precision CNC milling. Thanks to this design, the collimator's electronics can withstand an overload of 1000 G. The housing is IPX8 waterproof, which means that the collimator is resistant to harsh weather conditions, and total immersion in water. The sight is also rated to operate in a wide temperature range of -30°C to 60°C. A 1/3 Co-Witness skeletonized mount is used to mount the collimator on the weapon. When aiming through the collimator, the aiming point is 1/3 higher compared to the sighting instruments. The Holosun AEMSC uses lenses coated with multi-layer anti-reflective coatings, which provide high light transmission and a clear and sharp image free of parallax error. The collimator is powered by a CR2032 battery, which, according to the manufacturer's data, provides up to 50,000 hours of operation at a brightness setting of 6. In addition, the device uses a Solar Failsafe panel, which in strong light (solar or artificial) supports the operation of the battery, is responsible for automatic brightness adjustment of the aiming mark, and replaces the depleted battery in an emergency situation. The user can use the automatic brightness adjustment or independently change the brightness have 8 daylight settings and 4 night vision settings at their disposal.
With an impressive runtime of up to 50,000 hours, the device owes its Shake Awake system, which automatically turns off the LED when there is no motion activity (after 10 minutes). A motion sensor immediately awakens the device from sleep mode after the slightest movement of the weapon. The user can independently define the time after which the sleep mode is activated.
