Benchmade Osborne Folder with premium steel blade
The folding knife has a 74mm long blade made of elite CPM MagnaCut stainless steel, which is subjected to optimal hardening for EDC knives to a hardness of 60-62 HRC.
The main difference between CPM MagnaCut steel and other stainless steels is the amount of chromium. The elimination of chromium carbides from the steel's composition has resulted in a fine microstructure, making CPM MagnaCut much easier to sharpen compared to steels with similar wear resistance.
CPM MagnaCut combines the strength of CPM-4V, the corrosion resistance of CPM-20CV, the retention of CPM-CruWear/ CPM-4V and an impressive hardness of as much as 64 HRC, making it now considered one of the world's best steels used in factory-made knives.
When choosing a hard-steel knife, be sure to get a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and inefficient.
The usable head on the Benchmade knife
Theknife has a Reverse Tanto profile blade with a pronounced false blade to reduce the weight of the head. The head is coated with a black DLC Battlewash coating, which protects against corrosion, minor scratches and gives an original look.
Thanks to the use of a sturdy hilt, a high flat grind and a cutting edge with a gently rounded line, the knife penetrates easily and has good cutting properties.
The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 2.6 mm, which is a compromise between the durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Reliable locking mechanism in Benchmade knives
Benchmade's flagship mechanism, the double-sided AXIS Lock, which is valued for its immense mechanical strength, resistance to dirt and comfortable operation for right- and left-handed users, is responsible for the safety of work.
Robust and comfortable handle
The knife has profiled liners made of 6061-T6 aluminum in copper color. The profile of the handle at the base of the blade is wider, which means that the hand will not slip on the blade while working. The handle is reinforced by steel inserts and spacer sleeves.
The linings are complemented by a resilient Mini Deep Carry clip, allowing the knife to be conveniently carried in a pocket or on a belt. The clip can be attached to both the left and right sides of the handle.
The Benchmade 945BK-03 Osborne folding knife is a real treat for collectors and knife lovers who appreciate reliability combined with unique design.
