The CZ P-09 F Nocturne pistol in 9x19 Para caliber is a full-size model from Czech Zbrojovka, based on the popular CZ-P09 pistol - the successor to the P07. The company has a track record of successful shooting designs, including its best-known CZ-75 pistol or the PM Scorpion. The CZ P-09 Nocturne is a further development version of the P-07/09, based on a modern polymer frame and improved ergonomics, adapted to today's standards. The pistol is a weapon with a cocked striker-fired mechanism, operating in single-action and double-action (DA/SA) modes . The breech guides are located inside the frame, along its entire length which translates into smoother operation. Aggressive stippling on the grip prevents the gun from shifting in the hand and increases control during shooting. Distinctive targeting instruments with points that make them easy to rhyme with each other speed up accurate doublets. A feature of the pistol is a very light and precise trigger with a weight of 21N and a path to fire of 10mm (single action mode). The lock has been coated, according to the nomenclature, with a black coating with high resistance to damage.
Targeting instruments
The CZ P-09 F Nocturne pistol is equipped with high mechanical adjustable sighting instruments (a bow tie and a scimitar). A 22mm Picantinny rail is located on the frame in front of the breech. It allows the installation of a flashlight or laser pointer. In addition, the gun is equipped with a plate for mounting a small RMS (Optic Ready) standard collimator. The barrel length is 115 cm.
Mechanism of operation
The pistol is powered by 9x19 mm Parabellum ammunition. Due to its energy, the proven Browning bolt-action was used here by skewing the barrel vertically combined with its recoil over a short distance. The locking resistance is provided by a shell ejection window. The notches forthe breech pullare wide and applied also on the front, which facilitates the application of the so-called "press check,,,.
Safeties and manipulators
The gun has two types of essential safety devices. The primary one is a double-sided taut cock release located on the frame, just above the thumb. It has ergonomics similar to the Colt M1911 and can be replaced with a standard adjustable fuse. The second is an internal firing pin lock. The magazine release is integrated into the base of the bail and takes the form of a button. Just above it is located a wide breech drop lever from the rear position after the last shot.
Magazine and grip
The CZ P-09 F Nocturne pistol has a metal magazine inserted into the grip with a capacity of 19+1 rounds. It is equipped with inspection holes for easy visual assessment of the amount of remaining ammunition. The ergonomically angled grip is covered with stippling panels.
