Mechanism of the gun's operation
The Buck Mark Contour pistol is a classic small-caliber weapon for .22 LR side-fire ammunition. Due to its low energy, a lightweight free lock supported by a return spring was used here. The notches for extracting the lock are accentuated in the rear part. The advantage of such a solution is that the weapon can be operated without problems even by people with weaker hands like women or younger shooting adepts.
Safeties and manipulators
The gun has two types of essential safety devices. The primary one is an adjustable left-side wing safety located on the frame, just above the thumb. Its ergonomics are similar to those of the Colt M1911. The second is an internal firing pin lock. The magazine release button is integrated into the base of the bail. Just above it is located a lever dropping the lock from its rear position after the last shot.
Targeting instruments
The Browning Buck Mark Contour has Pro-Target adjustable mechanical sighting instruments (a bowtie and a scimitar). A 22mm Picantinny rail is also located along the entire length of the frame. It will allow you to install additional accessories in the form of, for example, a small collimator.
Precision barrel
A 5.5" (140 mm) long thick-walled precision barrel was used here. It was made of mirror-polished stainless steel and given a rectangular profile. The length of the aiming line is 203 mm.
Magazine and grip
The Contour pistol has a metal magazine for 10 cartridges. It is equipped with inspection holes for easy visual assessment of the amount of remaining ammunition. The ultragrip grip with an ergonomic angle is covered with anti-slip rubber and has finger notches to improve comfort during shooting.
