The Winchester SXP TRENCH shot gun is a revamped version of the iconic American Winchester 1897 shotgun. It is a repeating weapon in 12/76 caliber with a Pump-Action reloading system, that is, using a movable shuttle. The shotgun must be manually reloaded again after each shot is fired. When creating this model, an effort was made to combine traditional design with modernity. The buttstock and the front bed were made of elegant wood and equipped with anti-slip notches, identical to the original. An openwork cover was located on top of the barrel to protect the shooter from burns. What has been changed from the original is the breech chamber. It is made of lightweight aluminum painted black. The trigger has also been changed, as well as the trigger holster, which has been enlarged. The striking mechanism of the cocking type, has been enclosed in the frame. The method of locking has also been changed. The safety is the responsibility of a pin-type trigger fuse.

Mechanism of operation of the shotgun
The shotgun is a classic non-automatic - repeating weapon, which must be reloaded each time after firing a shot. It is a weapon that is bolted by rotating the breech with symmetrical bolts corresponding to the notches in the barrel chamber extension. Such a solution is very robust and allows the use of powerful ammunition.
Safeties and manipulators
The SPX Trench has two types of essential safety devices. The primary one is a piercing safety integrated into the breech and operated by the index finger. The second is an internal lock that prevents the gun from firing when the breech is not cocked.
Targeting instruments
The Winchester SPX Trench is equipped with a vestigial bow tie. The factory design does not have a scimitar, but a rail is located on the chamber, which allows the installation of a collimator or mechanical sight.
Tubular magazine
The shotgun has a tubular magazine with a capacity of 5 cartridges in 12 caliber of standard length. An additional cartridge can be placed directly in the barrel chamber. An enlarged charging port is located on the underside, behind the front bed.
