"European Hunting Trophy Valuation" is the first scientific publication in Poland that discusses the quality of hunting trophies of species found in Poland and Europe in such a wide range. It is currently the most up-to-date and the only book available on the market dedicated to the subject of European trophy valuation. It is an excellent tool for Polish CIC valuation surveyors and District Boards of the Polish Hunting Association, responsible for the implementation of the 2005 Regulation of the Minister of the Environment on the valuation and registration of hunting trophies.
The publication contains detailed, graphic and methodological descriptions of how to apply the CIC formulas, developed by the International Council on Hunting and Game Protection, which makes it unique on a European scale. It updates the CIC instructions, which from 2019 include changes to the point ranges for medal trophies, as well as new point ranges for species such as raccoon and golden jackal. There are also revisions to the valuation of raccoon and large carnivores, and a discussion of the CIC's new approach to valuing deer mynahs.
The book includes tables with CIC point ranges for European wildlife species, subspecies and ecotypes, taking into account their regional variations. It is enriched with nearly 400 illustrations, photos, diagrams and drawings that demonstrate measurement and valuation techniques, enabling any hunter to make an initial assessment of a trophy.
The monograph is an invaluable tool in the work of the districts of the Polish Hunting Association, hunting circles, forest districts and game breeding centers, supporting population management and game quality monitoring.
