Kershaw Wharf 1414 folding knife

Product description

The Kershaw Wharf 1414 folding knife is a tool distinguished by its versatility. It is equipped with a wide blade and a profiled cutting edge that can perfectly handle a variety of materials. A finger cutout and additional notching on the back of the blade provide a solid grip and precise cutting control. The knife is therefore ideal for precision work in the workshop or field. The assisted-opening mechanism guarantees smooth and reliable operation, and the deep-set clip makes it easy to transport conveniently in your pocket. The model has a handle in gray color.

Features of the Kershaw Wharf 1414 folding knife:

  • It has a versatile cleaver-shaped blade for efficient cutting, slicing and chopping.
  • The blade is made of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, easy to sharpen and durable.
  • Stonewash finish on the blade to mask minor nicks and scratches.
  • A flipper that acts as a gut allows the knife to be opened quickly with one hand.
  • It has assisted blade extension thanks to an internal spring.
  • It has a notched blade ridge for precise thumb support during slicing.
  • It is equipped with a secure Liner-Lock lock to prevent accidental folding of the knife.
  • The handle is made of rugged fiberglass-reinforced nylon.
  • It has a two-position retaining clip for deep carrying in a pocket or equipage.

Steel used in the Wharf 1414 model

The knife uses CPM S45VN stainless steel. It is popular in knife production because of its good compromise between price and quality. It achieves a hardness in the range of 56-59 HRC, which provides high resistance to cutting edge wear. It is also characterized by low susceptibility to cracking and chipping.

Kershaw Wharf 1414 and the Liner-Lock lock.

The knife uses the proven Liner-lock, in which the steel locking line is embedded inside the handle. This solution makes the mechanism less conspicuous, giving the knife a more aesthetically pleasing and sleek look, while also ensuring the blade locks securely.

Lightweight and sturdy handle of the Wharf 1414 knife

The handle of the folder is made of fiberglass-reinforced nylon, with an applied rough texture. Thanks to the ergonomic contouring, the knife fits well in the hand. The design is complemented by a two-position deep-carry clip for carrying in a trouser pocket.
