The Diana R-22 Carbon carbine is a repeating weapon adapted to .22 WMR caliber side-firing and is a modern shooting platform. It's based on a polymeric stock, a comfortable pistol grip and a flask with a performance cheekpiece and an ergonomic footplate. It is a non-automatic weapon, equipped with a slide-twist lock, which means that the shooter must manually load each cartridge after firing each shot. Principle of operation of Diana R-22
The operation of the carbine is based on a simple solution using a bolt-action lock . The shooter manually reloads the weapon after each shot, by pulling the reloading lever upward and then backward. This results in the ejection of a shell. The reverse process then selects a cartridge from the magazine and loads it into the barrel chamber.

The carbine has a narrow magazine made of plastic, which must be placed in the socket of the stock. It has a capacity of 10 .22 WMR cartridges.
Safeties and manipulators
The carbine has two types of safety features. The primary one is a manual safety located behind the lock of the weapon. It can be easily operated by the shooter without taking his hand off the grip. The second safety is a lock that prevents the shooter from firing when the lock is not engaged.
