Steel used in the Baby Banter 2 knife
The knife uses Nitro-V stainless steel developed by New Jersey Steel Baron and based on AEB-L steel. It is characterized by high hardness(58-62HRC) and corrosion resistance. It is ideal for knives that require durability, especially in humid environments, including diving knives. It is also harder than powder steels like M390, Elmax and S35VN.
The locking mechanism used on the Civivi HID
The knife has a Crossbar-Lock that moves horizontally in the notches of the steel handle frame. When opened, it lock s the back of the blade, preventing it from closing. The mechanism prevents self-opening in the closed position. The advantages of such a lock are resistance to contamination, durability under dynamic loads, ease of use for both hands and smooth operation.
Baby Banter 2 composite facings
The handle is made of two durable pieces of solid aluminum. The axle is decorated with the Civivi brand logo. A two-position metal clip allows the knife to be carried discreetly in the pocket in the tip-up position (with the tip of the blade up). At the end of the handle there is a hole for a cord (lanyard hole).
