The Ruger RXM Optics Ready is a modern semi-automatic pistol adapted to the 9x19 mm caliber. This model loosely refers to Glock brand pistols, drawing on the solutions used in these designs. Thanks to this, the Ruger brand has managed to construct an easy-to-use, accurate and comfortable weapon based on a polymer frame, which can be successfully used by uniformed services and as an EDC. What's more, the breech is factory-equipped with cut-outs for the installation of a collimator (Optics Ready).
Features of the Ruger RXM Optics Ready self-revolving pistol:
- Has a lightweight and modern polymer frame, reducing the weight of the design significantly.
- Equipped with expressive sighting instruments, non-adjustable and a 22mm mounting rail.
- It has a removable insert (Casey) trigger assembly (FCI), allowing the skeleton to be replaced with a different color.
- It is compatible with most accessories and holsters dedicated to Glock Generation 3 pistols.
- Aggressive TSP texture for a secure grip while shooting.
- Undercut and contoured trigger holster for easy concealed carry.
- The lock adapted for direct mounting of collimators: RMR, Delta Point Pro (DPP) and RMSc.
- The barrel is made of alloy steel with nitride coating (FNC) for increased corrosion and scratch resistance.
- Included: two Magpul P-MAG 15 GL9 magazines (15 rounds) and a plastic carrying case.
Action mechanism of the pistol
The Ruger RXM is a classic weapon for 9x19 mm centerfire ammunition. Due to its high energy, it uses a massive lock and an operating principle based on short barrel recoil with its locking by vertical recoil (a typical Browning system). A shell ejection window serves as the locking resistance. A strong return spring further reduces the sensation of recoil acting on the shooter.
Safeties and manipulators
The pistol has no external manual safeties. The primary one is an automatic trigger fuse, incorporated into the tongue. It prevents accidental firing in a situation where the gun is dropped. The second is an internal firing pin lock. The magazine release button is integrated into the base of the bail. Just above it is a lever dropping the lock from its rear position after the last shot.
Targeting instruments
The Ruger RXM has fixed mechanical sighting instruments in the form of a musket and adjustable sights. They have bright dots to make them easier to rally.
The barrel used in the gun
A forged barrel of 4" (101.6 mm) length, made of stainless steel, was used here. It has a right-hand thread with a 1:10" pitch and 6 furrows.
Magazine and grip on the Ruger RXM
The gun has a metal magazine for 15 rounds + 1 in the chamber. The grip has an ergonomic angle and is covered with an anti-slip texture.
