The operating principle of the Rock River Arms Upper for AR-15 7"
Upper is based on the classic gas system developed by ArmaLite. It uses gunpowder gases that, through a hole in the barrel and then a gas tube, enter the slide, pushing it apart and unclamping it. The advantage of such a system is the reduced weight of the moving assembly, reduced recoil sensation and smooth operation of the breech. The weapon is bolted by rotating the breech with 6 symmetrical bolts. The 8620 steel slide has been hardened by a chemical process. The lock itself is made of 158 high-carbon steel.

The breech chamber is equipped with a thin-walled barrel with a length of 7 inches and a thread pitch of 1:7. Its surface has been chrome plated to protect it from the corrosive effects of powder gases and water. It is finished with a ½ x 28 thread with A2 flame suppressor. The openwork front bed with angles at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock has M-LOK standard holes. With their help, you can easily install additional accessories like a flashlight, foregrip, angle grip or additional sighting device. At the front and rear of the bed two short sections of 22mm rail were applied for sighting instruments.
