The principle of operation of the Beretta A300 shotgun
The operation of the self-repeating rifle is based on the proven ERGO gas system, which uses a short-stroke gas piston that drives the moving assembly (lock with slide). Locking is carried out by rotating the breech with symmetrical bolts that correspond to the drag on the barrel chamber extension.
Tubular magazine with a capacity of 7 cartridges
The shotgun has a classic tubular-type magazine, hidden in the bed under the barrel. Loading is done through an enlarged window located at the bottom of the breech chamber. The magazine has a capacity of 7 12-caliber cartridges plus 1 in the chamber.
Safeties and manipulators
The Beretta A300 has one safety feature. It is a manual cocking safety located inside the breech, in the form of a button. It can be easily operated by the shooter without taking his hand off the grip. In addition, the release assembly of the moving assembly from the rear position has been enlarged and located in close proximity to the charging port.
Targeting instruments in the shotgun
The shotgun is factory-equipped with a vertically and horizontally adjustable peep sight and a fixed cased musket. The instruments are used for typically dynamic shooting. An additional 22mm Picantinny rail on top of the breech chamber makes it easy to mount, for example, a collimator.
