TheSteyr L9-A2 Modular Frame is a modern, cocking-free self-revolving pistol adapted to the 9x19 mm caliber. The design was intended to compete with the Glock, which was a huge innovation for the time, based on an all-polymer frame and lock. Steyr designers went several steps further and created a pistol that was not only modern, but also ergonomic and reliable. They equipped their pistol with a comfortable high-angle grip and a low-set lock relative to the shooter's hand, which allowed for better control of the toss and recoil on target. Additional innovations included a slanted sights and musket system, which allowed quick folding to fire, and a safety in the form of a rotating bolt. The model shown has interchangeable rear and side grip panelsand comes in black.

Mechanism of operation of the Steyr L9 pistol
The Steyr L9 is a classic weapon for 9x19mm centerfire ammunition. Due to its high energy, a bolt-action lock and an operating principle based on the short recoil of the barrel with its bolting through vertical recoil (a typical Browning system) were used here. A shell ejection window serves as the locking resistance. A strong return spring further reduces the sensation of recoil acting on the shooter.
Safeties and manipulators
The primary safety is an automatic trigger fuse, incorporated into the tongue. It prevents accidental firing in a situation where the gun is dropped. The second is an internal firing pin lock. The third safety feature is a rotating screw, which, when rotated, completely deactivates the gun. The magazine release button is integrated into the base of the bail . Just above it is located a lever that drops the lock from its rear position after the last shot.
Aiming instruments in the Steyr L9 A2 pistol
The gun comes from the factory with fixed mechanical sighting instruments in the form of a trapezoidal bow-tie and a scimitar, and they have bright dots to make it easier to align them with each other. The pistol also comes in a version with classic targeting instruments.
The barrel used in the pistol
A 115mm long forged steel barrel was used here. It was coated with a protective coating for better protection.
