The Sauer 505 Synchro XT repeating rifle in .30-06 Springfield caliber (7.62 x 63 mm) is the successor to the 404 model, combining the best features of its predecessors. The breech design harkens back to the now legendary Sauer 80 and 90, offering a unified design with a breech with 6 solid bolts, while featuring a smoothness of operation that is deceptively reminiscent of those known from the older 80/90 models. The 51 cm long barrel at the end is equipped with an M15x1 mounting thread for an exhaust device. The model has a grey-colored, reinforced polymer stock .

Sauer is a classic repeating rifle, based on a slide-turn lock (4-barrel). Locking is carried out through 6 symmetrically located bolts, corresponding to the locking resistance in the barrel. Such a system is simple and reliable, in addition to being easy to clean and maintain. It also ensures high firing accuracy and withstands various pressures of the ammunition used.
Safeties and manipulators
The rifle has two types of safety devices. The primary one is an adjustable safety located at the rear of the breech chamber. It can be easily operated by the shooter without taking his hand off the grip. The second safety is a locking device that prevents the shooter from firing when the breech is not cocked.
Targeting instruments
The rifle does not use any form of mechanical sighting instruments at the factory. Instead, the rifle is equipped with the possibility of installing any form of optics, thanks to 2 mounting screw holes for mountinglunettes or 22mm rails.
