Mauser MAX M12 is a design ideal for hunting
The ergonomics of the rifle has been meticulously thought out, which is reflected in the design of the breech mechanism as well as the entire stock. Made of wood, it provides durability and elegance. In addition, the cheekbone allows intuitive folding for the shot. The design of the M12 has also been thought out for ease of maintenance. The rifle allows quick access to the breech chamber and barrel, making it easy to clean and maintain the weapon, ensuring its long-term reliability.
The principle of operation of the Mauser M12 rifle
Max is a classic repeating rifle, based on a slide-turn (4-barrel) lock. Locking is carried out through 6 symmetrically located bolts, corresponding to the locking resistance in the barrel extension. Such a system is simple and robust, plus easy to clean and maintain. It also ensures high shooting precision and withstands various pressures of the ammunition used. After each shot the rifle must be reloaded.
Safeties and manipulators
The M12 rifle has two types of safeties. The primary one is a rotary, 3-position safety located in an intuitive place: on the back of the breech just above the thumb. It can be easily operated by the shooter without taking his hand off the grip. The second safety is a locking device that prevents the shooter from firing when the breech is not cocked. The reloading lever has an enlarged head so as to improve the process of firing rapid shots.
Aiming instruments of the M12 rifle
The rifle uses simple targeting instruments with a relatively short aiming line. They consist of a bow tie and a pinniped, which are extremely fast in alignment with each other, which translates into a quick time between spotting the target and firing a shot. In addition, the rifle is equipped with the possibility of installing any form of optics, thanks to mounting holes for the M98-type mountlunette.
