The principle of the rifle
TheRuger Hawkeye Long Range Target is a classic repeating rifle, based on a slide-turn (4-barrel) lock. Locking is carried out through symmetrically located bolts, corresponding to the locking resistance in the barrel extension. Such a system is simple and reliable, in addition to being easy to clean and maintain. It also ensures high firing accuracy and withstands various pressures of the ammunition used. The lock has a non-rotating extractor claw.
Safeties and manipulators
The rifle has an adjustable wing fuse with three positions, located at the rear of the breech chamber. It can be easily operated by the shooter without taking his hand off the grip. The reloading lever has an enlarged head, so as to improve the process of firing fast shots.
Targeting instruments
The weapon is not factory equipped with any form of sighting instruments. Instead, the Ruger brand decided to give the user the freedom to choose such, installing an elongated rail in the 22mm Picantinny standard on the breech chamber.
