The Son of Gun AR-15 B5 System carbine is based on the popular AR15 platform and manufactured by the Polish manufacturer Son of Gun. It is a version with a 12.5" barrel enhanced with B5 System brand accessories. This economical carbine is an excellent choice, both for all kinds of dynamic competition and tactical shooting. Principle of operation of the carbine
The AR-15 Son of Gun platform is based on the classic gas system developed by Armalite. It uses gunpowder gases that, through a hole in the barrel and then a gas tube, enter the interior of the slide, expanding it and unclamping it. The advantage of such a system is the reduced weight of the moving assembly, reduced recoil sensation and smooth operation of the breech. The weapon is bolted by rotating the breech face with 6 symmetrical bolts. The breech and trigger chamber, standard for AR-15 carbines, is made of milled aluminum coated with a durable coating created by the anodizing process.
The 12.5-inch precision barrel
The SOG AR-15 is equipped with a 12.5-inch-long barrel, which allows efficient maneuvering in confined spaces. Its surface has been subjected to a nitriding process, for protection against harmful factors such as the corrosive effects of gases produced during the combustion of gunpowder. The barrel ends in a thread with a factory-installed "Birdcage" flame suppressor.
The front bed is equipped with the M-LOK mounting system
The SOG AR-15 carbine uses a hexagonal front bed with angles at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock and holes in the M-LOK standard. With their help, you can easily install additional equipment like a flashlight, foregrip, angle grip or additional sighting device. Through the entire length of the lock chamber and the bed is drawn a 22mm rail for mounting sighting instruments in any configuration.
