The Holosun AEMS Core is an armored collimator with a closed design for mounting on long guns. The collimator incorporates a number of state-of-the-art features including the Solar Failsafe power system, Shake Awake battery saving system and the ability to change the aiming mark. A 1/3 co-witness Picatinny rail mount is included, which allows the sight to be installed on a wide range of carbines.

The body of the sight is made of lightweight T6061-T6 aluminum by precision CNC milling. Thanks to this design, the collimator's electronics can withstand an overload of 1000 G. The housing is IP67-rated, which means that the collimator is resistant to harsh weather conditions, and temporary immersion in water. The sight is also rated to operate in a wide temperature range of -40°C to 70°C. A 1/3 Co-Witness skeletonized mount is used to mount the collimator on the weapon. When aiming through the collimator, the aiming point is 1/3 higher compared to the sighting instruments. However, when aiming through mechanical sighting instruments, the collimator dot coincides with the musket.

The Holosun AEMS Core uses lenses coated with multi-layer anti-reflective coatings, which provide high light transmission and a clear and sharp image free of parallax error.

The aiming mark is a classic red dot with a universal size of 2 MOA, which provides a compromise between speed and precision and allows you to fire accurately at silhouettes and gongs at farther distances and quickly move between targets on the IPSC circuit.

The collimator is powered by a CR2032 battery, which according to the manufacturer provides up to 50,000 hours of operation at a brightness setting of 6.

The impressive runtime of up to 50,000 hours is due to the device's Shake Awake system, which automatically turns off the LED when there is no movement activity (after 10 minutes). A motion sensor immediately awakens the device from sleep mode after the slightest movement of the weapon.
