TheBenchmade 4300 CLA is a lightweight automatic knife, featuring a CPM 154 stainless steel blade, an enlarged deployment button and liners made of durable G40 laminate.
American tool steel
Theknife has a slim 86mm long blade, made of hard 154CM tool steel, hardened to a hardness of 58-61 HRC. 154CM is a high-carbon stainless steel enriched with molybdenum, so it can be described as an improved version of 440C.
American 154CM steel is valued for its resistance to corrosion and wear (high impact strength), long maintenance of working sharpness and relative ease of sharpening.
Utility head
The blade, with a utilitarian drop point profile, is finished by satin-finishing (polishing). The matte blade is easier to clean and does not reflect light.
The knife has a gently marked blade belly and a strong hilt. A head with such a profile is an excellent choice for those looking for a knife with very good cutting properties and a sturdy tip.
Transverse cutters were made on the back of the ridge, allowing a stable finger rest during planing or precision cutting.
The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 2.9 mm, which is a compromise between durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
Instant unfolding
The main advantage of the automatic knife, is the comfortable and fast unfolding system. Unlike models with an assisted head, in an automatic knife, unfolding the blade requires only pressing a button, which is responsible for releasing the lock and activating the powerful spring.
Folding the blade requires pressing the button again and manually retracting the blade. Such functionality makes "automatics" very popular among soldiers, uniformed service personnel and edc enthusiasts.
The enlarged release button is embedded in a milled cutout, so it does not protrude above the handle.
Extreme caution and prudence are recommended when using the automatic knife.
Reliable locking mechanism
Benchmade's flagship mechanism, the double-sided Axis-lock, which is valued for its immense mechanical strength, dirt resistance and convenient operation for right- and left-handed users, is responsible for safe operation.
Comfortable grip
The Benchmade 4300 CLA II has contoured G10 plastic liners. The glass-epoxy laminate used is characterized by light weight, high mechanical strength, resistance to water, temperature change, as well as many acids and solvents.
The contoured shape, combined with a finger undercut and rough textured plastic, provide a stable grip and comfortable use. A hole in the back of the handle allows attachment of a rope or paracord braid.
Discreetly carrying the knife in a pocket is made possible by a standard clip with attachment options on both sides of the liners.
