The 5" diamond rod is an original replacement for the diamond rod of the Lansky Deluxe sharpener, which can also be used to upgrade the Lansky Turn Box ceramic sharpening system.
Any diamond sharpener, over time, loses its sharpening properties due to gradual abrasion of the diamond coating. Therefore, when sharpening on this type of whetstone, be sure not to put a lot of force into the process.
Grinding on a diamond sharpener should be done with minimal force, under the weight of the knife itself. After use, the diamond whetstone is initially cleaned with a nylon brush, then washed in warm water with mild detergent.
