Manufactured by Turkish arms manufacturer Hatsan, the air rifles have been popular among Polish sport shooters for years thanks to the capabilities they provide within their price range. The Optima by Hatsan brand offers the same excellent cost-to-quality ratio, which is a direct result of the solutions used in the manufacturing process. The manufacturer's tremendous capabilities allow it to manufacture every part in a single factory, so the windguns are made from scratch under the watchful eye of Hatsan specialists.
The carbine has a bullpup (without a proper flask) polymer stock, resulting in a compact, highly collapsible windgun, while maintaining a full-size barrel. The tactical nature of the carbine is emphasized by the pistol grip and the flask with an adjustable cheekpiece. A rubber foot on the end of the butt facilitates stable support of the air rifle. The bed has an integral Picatinny rail, which allows mounting a bipod or flashlight.
The 585mm threaded Hatsan QE (QuietEnergy) barrel has an integrated sound suppressor, which reduces the sound of the shot by 50%, while retaining the full energy of the shot. Chocking, which is the narrowing of the barrel exit, significantly improves the accuracy of the windgun, an effect that is most noticeable when shooting at longer distances. In addition to the black oxidized breech chamber, the metal parts are coated with blue finish oxide.

TheOptima by Hatsan PCP BullBoss is powered by an interchangeable 230 cc cartridge, which, when fully charged, allows up to 150 aligned shots. A built-in pressure gauge allows you to read the cartridge pressure and check the cartridge's fill level. The air charging port is secured with a rotating ring. To prevent corrosion of the cartridge, we recommend injecting previously dried air. For this purpose, we can use a PCP pump with a particle filter and a desiccant, which almost completely absorbs moisture, thus extending the life of the cartridge.
The BullBoss carbine is characterized by high rate of fire, thanks to the use of interchangeable rotating magazines (2 magazines included ) with a capacity of 10 shots. The magazine is reloaded using a two-barrel lever, conveniently located on the right side of the carbine., as a result, the shooter can repetition without taking his eyes off the target.
PCP riflescopes usually do not have mechanical sighting devices, but thanks to the dorsal Picatinny rail we have the possibility to use an optical sight of our choice.
For the high accuracy of the carbine, in addition to the threaded chocked barrel, is also responsible for the 2-stage Quattro Trigger mechanism, which has an adjustable length and weight of the trigger tongue. The carbine is equipped with 3 systems responsible for the safety of use:
- Anti-Double-Pellet Feed - a mechanism that prevents more than one shotgun pellet from being loaded into the barrel.
- Anti-Knock System - a system that prevents air leakage when the rifle is dropped or hit by a windlass.
- Automatic fuse - activated when the shotgun is reloaded. Each time before shooting, the fuse must be turned off.
