The Benchmade 537GY-1 Bailout the ultra-lightweight and rugged "black class" tactical knife features a CPM-M4 powder steel tanto blade, an aluminum taper and aggressively textured 6061-T6 aluminum liners.
Ideal for everyday use
The Benchmade Bailout 537GY-1 is a military-style edc knife, accented by a blackened tanto head and a military color scheme of woodland green facings. The knife uses an 86mm Japanese tanto profile blade, made of high-quality CPM-M4 tool steel.
The used blade shape provides increased tip strength while maintaining high cutting performance.
The blade has been coated with a gray DLC coating, which has a very high abrasion resistance, it also protects the steel from corrosion. The blade can be conveniently unfolded with one hand, thanks to a double-sided peg (made of anodized aluminum), allowing right- and left-handed people to operate the knife comfortably.
Premium steel head
The new 537GY-1 Bailout model has a blade made of high-carbon CPM-M4 tool steel hardened to as high as 62-64 HRC. Thanks to the high molybdenum, vanadium and tungsten content, the high carbon level has been balanced, resulting in excellent sharpness retention and tremendous hardness.
Sharpening such steel is difficult and time-consuming, and regular maintenance of the blade must also be remembered. However, in return, the user receives a tool whose aggressive cutting and extremely long maintenance of working sharpness perfectly compensate for the mentioned inconveniences.
Proven lock
The head lock is, of course, Axis-lock, the flagship mechanism of the Benchmade brand, valued for its great resistance to stress, insensitivity to dirt and ease of use. The double-sided lever can be comfortably operated with the left or right hand.
Military-grade handle
Thanks to the use of aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum liners, the knife's construction is extremely lightweight (76 g) and much more durable. Aggressive texturing of the handle and its widening at the base ensure a firm grip on the knife while working.
The wide clip, with an option to translate (left/right), also allows the knife to be carried in a pocket or in a tactical armband. The handle is finished with an aluminum insert with a tungsten carbide pin, which can serve as a tool for hammer blows or as an emergency glass breaker.
